    Have seen similar missing walls in several cases, although not on pits. Added a comment to the ticket.

      Yeah this is definitely my fault. Not entirely unexpected, although I hadn't seen it yet.

          NPPAngband pits have numerous holes in their walls, so as soon as you get close all the monsters start swarming out of them. Might be an interesting twist to add to the deeper pits in Vanilla.

          But an entirely missing wall is probably a bit too much.

              I mean, it is. The actual intended feature is to ensure the dungeon is completely connected.

              I think what's happening is that somehow it doesn't think the inner room of the pit is connected to the moat, so it just shaved off the top wall. I'll have to look into it. I suspect it's a problem with secret doors or something like that.

              I do like how some of the dungeon structures occasionally get randomly mauled by the algorithm... definitely produces more unique feel. I'd rather it be more intentional though...
