Borg for Vanilla 3.1.2v2 is ready

Borg has been updated to work with the most recent release. You can find it at his new home www.innovapain.com/borg

Also, the screen saver does not work yet. There are some crashes with the way the game waits for some commands. It might take a while to work through them, and I'll probably need some help with a couple of hurdles.

    Report any problems.

    hugs and kisses,

In the medium-to-long term would you want your borg code incorporated into the V codebase? It would make keeping things working and in sync a little easier (in that the rest of us could help keep the borg compiling at least).

Is it possible to get a Mac OS X version of the bot?

I have no way of testing or compiling the borg for OS X. But if you can compile the borg source, I can make appropriate adjustments to the borg code to help you.

Thank you so much for getting your borg up to date again. I love watching it play.

I don't see it searching erratically any more, but it has some strange and very long phases where where it seems to stairscum except that it does not stairscum. He makes thousands of moves up and down the stairs where no torch fuel is burned up. He rapidly switches between two levels and tries to attack a monsters here and there without killing it. (The experience does not grow.)

Here is the log of his doing: image

I have watched Borg for Angband 309b and I could occasionally observe the same kind of behaviour. There it was not everlasting, because going up and down the stairs did consume fuel of the torches, so the Borg was forced to do something else sooner or later. But in Angband 3.2.0 the staircases don't consume light fuel. The Borg is not forced to quit going up and down the stairs.
