What about a Discord ? (I tried to look for one, but am not even sure it exists)
I recently tried to look for information (about Frog) here, and it looks like the good ol' knowledge of the lost land of angband.oook.cz is just gone.

Well, I play every other year, so I don't care that much... but on the other hand, angband has always been pretty complex to approach, and I think a good community tool (Angband stackexchange ? :drool: ) could be a nice asset.


... or maybe a wiki ? I probably didn't look for one, but never heard about it, and it might well be the most efficient to compile organized and updatable informations about the game.

The wiki is very overrun with spam but I could and should fix it.

A discord would be easy to make but it's not very open source an irc would be better in that sense but there is an official angband irc channel last I checked.

Some kind of a forum is necessary for long format sustained discussions.

The previous version of the forum at oook worked perfectly for years and had a very nice design. Could we just bring it back? This new vBulletin setup seems to require a lot of tuning, and it looks like no one is willing to do it (no offense - we all have limited time).

Odd thing is, I'm pretty sure I didn't? At least not on the date it's showing up. The date shown I spent half the day sleeping on a train from a weekend away, ate then went to bed.

I have a vague recollection of going on a random rant about a month ago, because I couldn't log in.

I mean, I know I wrote that post while drunk, but I'm certainly not convinced it was recent, or that the post displayed at the time it was written.

Edit: I mean it's clearly me, I recognise my own mannerisms, and I remember being frustrated when the forum wasn't working (as far as my memory serves me, this was when Nick asked, and Mitze replied it was not),

but unless I took a short bus ride to crazy town, or woke up in my sleep and skulled 2 bottles of rum, this (and the other post), were not made on that date and only just now appeared.

I posted them, and they are bad (I'm rotten when I'm drunk), but I'm pretty sure they weren't posted on that date. I lost my cool because I could not post, and months later, posts that weren't being received by the server suddenly displayed
