    Comp 212

We're doing a Sil-Q competition for December. Quirk has put in some extra effort to make this one a bit special: the December gift doesn't carry a Sil curse, and will be a different artifact every day.

What are winner rules? Turncount? Score?

Unless sil-q changed something substantial, I'm not sure any other measure can really beat score in ranking Sil runs.

        winner with most sils

if tied, winner in least turns,

        if no winner, highest score

Again, if Morgoth really is impossible to kill in this version, I'm pretty sure just using score directly gets you this ordering already.

Sil has one of the best scoring systems in that you can "almost" read what kind of a win straight from the score. I'm not entirely sure if a fast 1 sil beats a slower 3 sil without looking jat the exact equation but otherwise it is pretty good.

I haven't seen anyone upload the latest compiled Sil-Q anywhere. For now, you should try out Sil-Q on Angband.Live.

Thanks Hugo, forgot it existed. I miss the sub windows a bit and the damage on the main screen, but enjoying the rest.

Ah, I'm sorry, there is a Windows compiled version of the latest release on github:
This release mainly tweaks things, fixes some bugs and pulls in some mpa-sil improvements. Subtlety now makes Crits an extra point cheaper. Rings of Archery have become Rings of Cowardice. Robes of...

Off to check if I used the wrong URL when I last announced a new release.

When I try to add windows (inventory, equipment ect.) the game crashes.

Aha. After a little experimenting, it looks like it crashes if you do this when you have no character. I think if you copy the sil.ini file from the original it should just work from startup. I'll make sure that's incorporated in the distribution going forward.

So I down loaded sil-q-1.3.2-q1 from github, and got it to compile and run. Does that version have all the changes for the comp, or do I need to tweak something manually ?

If you're using the comp savefile, everything required should be present.

                              ok; thanks.

BTW - is there some reason Nivim's comp character is second rather than first ?
