    Old zangband comp???

So during the sudden poschengband revolution, elliptic made the point that a lot of stuff that I found "crazy and new" in poschengband actually comes from zangband. He just played this dude and it looked really fun and ridiculous: http://angband.oook.cz/ladder-show.php?id=15741

Does anyone think an old zangband comp would be fun??? My only worry is just being able to run the damn thing (remember old frog-knows problems) but at least I can already build it on os x GCU. I just don't what thick clients will work...

(Edit: By "old" I mean "2.2.8")

If you can get it to run on Win/OSX/Linux then yeah, I'd say go for it. ZAngband was the original "crazy variant" that later variants measured themselves against.

Might be fun to try playing Kamband again...I remember there being some really nutso things in that one.

We can just get everyone to install amiga emulators and then play the amiga version!

Heck, that's something I might actually do- ZAngband was actually what got me in to roguelikes, back in high school. I've probably spent more time on it than anything else, over the years, but almost none at all recently. If somebody has a working version, that could be a lot of fun!

I tried it a couple of years ago. I had to edit a few lines in the code, but after that it compiled just fine on Linux.

Without Kamband there wouldn't be goddesses in Halls of Mist. I loved and was inspired by the weird athmosphere in general.

            I'd play a Kamband competition.
