I just started a new hobbit rogue. Farmer Maggot was hanging around and kindly dropped a Cloak of Aman [1, +12] <+1>. Then on DL1 I found a Dagger (+5, +5), a Sling of the Nazgul (+10, +10) and a Sling (+1, +4). I feel comfortable with diving now!
It's especially nice since my previous character was still making do with a Sling (+5, +2) at DL25. (And the Defender Awl-Pike was irksomely heavy.)
