    My first RandArt winner char

I've been playing with RandArt set recently and managed to win. I wanted to play a non-caster, so Warrior was my only option. I grinded a bit too much again, but at least I won. Here are my after-game thoughts:

    - I only found 1 light source artifact, a wooden torch which was quite pathetic, the Lantern of Everburning stayed with me almost the whole game long
    - rStun was again hard to find, an Iron Crown of Serenity is a valuable ego item for sure
    - another 'key moment' was looting a chest in which I found the ring with triple immunity

    What next? Maybe Ranger...?

    Hello Narry,
    Nice artifacts
    Just one quesion.
    Overweight 218.9 lb
    Speed 14 (2.4x)
Maybe I overlook something but I don't see Morgoth's drop in your inventory, so you went with speed < 30 into the final fight? That's an unnecessary risk.
    And you are carrying:
    180 Scrolls of Phase Door
40 Scrolls of Satisfy Hunger + 25 Pieces of Elvish Waybread
3 Rods of Speed (1 charging) + 70 Potions of Speed
135 Potions of Cure Critical Wounds (+ 25 Potions of Healing + 59 Potions of *Healing* + 11 Rods of Healing)
And this after the fight. I would have certainly dropped all the Satisfy Hunger scrolls and some of the CCW + PD to gain some speed, even if I had 20 base speed.

      Hi Adam,

I admit I was playing it way too safe concerning healing. With rods of speed and speed potions I could haste myself to +24. I had another Ring of Speed (+14) in my vault, but I didn't want to lose 3 immunities provided by the Ring 'Morie'.

I didn't pick up Morgoth's drops before posting the char dump to ladder. If you scroll down, you can see that I definitely found them though.

My point about Morgoth's drop was that Grond weights a lot (really a lot, over 100 lb). If you are overburdened after you pick up M's gear, that's normal.
However if you go into battle against M with speed 24, he can double move you and you wouldn't survive 2 mana storms - this is the unnecessary risk I mentioned.
Just by dropping some of the things I mentioned you could have gained some speed. By playing around with your gear, probably some more (I also would not use the other RoS, not wearing that ring with the 3 immunities would be just a shame). But the gauntlets with +3 speed or a Trickery would be a candidate to improve your speed. Missing a high resist is not something I would worry about against M (well, I think I never had everything covered).

Fair enough. I guess I'm too much of a perfectionist to have considered such things. But I will for future encounters with M. Thanks for your thoughts.

No, you're gambling. Perfect play is to ensure that you have sufficient speed.
