    Borel XI DAR (dwarf paladin)

    So, decided that I would document this, my 11th attempt at a win with a dwarf paladin with a DAR, in the hopes that taking the time to talk about it will make me a bit more careful in my thoughts in the game.

    So, starting midway... At 1150' (23) Found one of the most unusual randarts to date... A set of gauntlets that grant lightning immunity and telepathy... *shrug*

    Continued progress down, and killed Mim and one of his sons at 1350' (27). Also found a randart short bow with +2 shots laying on the floor. So far the RNG has been quite kind, which is scaring me.

      Yeah, crazy good find on the gauntlets so early. Posting DARs helped a lot in me finally getting my first win. The veterans on these boards are very helpful.

        Managed to make it down to 1650' (33) and took my revenge on Lokkak for what he did to my ancestor. Things are starting to get a bit dicey, and had a couple of too-close calls, so probably going to stick around this depth for a while. Naturally, no sooner than I write this out, I end up on a level with a small vault that has a master lich sitting in the middle of it. I don't have any -TO yet, but do have ethereal openings, which gives me a very small chance of casting, but am going to try anyways.

          And I survived the vault! The "8" level feeling was from a ?Raal's book and a robe of permanence. Needless to say, I took the major AC hit and threw on the robe (res Chaos).

            Grats.... clearing that first vault on a new character is always nerve racking.

              ***AAR*** (YASD) of Borel XI

              So, managed to get myself killed. Walked into a room with a bunch of vibration hounds, tried fighting them briefly (bad), and then used my _tele, only to end up in a room full of gnome mages and a minotaur (really not sure I want to know what that was about). Read my ?pd and moved me to the other side of the room directly in front of the minotaur.

              Still alive after being gored, I used my _tele to escape to safety again and...

              Nope. Right back in the middle of the vibration hounds.

                I'll take it!
                Once I found a pair of +3 int/con immfire and esp randart gloves with a mage. To compensate such overpowerness, the RNG decided not to put FA on said gloves...
