Top 10 ways to avoid losing all your scrolls of recall
10. Carry lots of extras.
9. Avoid fire hounds, and never stand-up melee with monsters that hit or bite to burn.
8. Go to DL 60 and scum for Celeborn. Then always banish 'Z' on entering a level.
7. Go to dl 80 and scum for Narya. Fire immunity solves everything.
6. Buy a Rod of recall in the black market.
5. Scum for Potions of experience and for Mordenkainen's Escapes. With enough experience you can cast the spell.
4. Play O or FA and abuse the selective stairs exploit.
3. Only play Ironman or Iron MAngband.
2. Edit monsters.txt and remove all the BURN attacks.

And the number one way to avoid losing your recall:
1. Buy a Staff of Teleportation. You can be sure that it will be incinerated first.

this needs to go straight to the newbies guide... if that isn't where you stole it all from. Mind you, need to replace number 2 for something in-game that will sound like real intented advice to newbies (5-8 sound like real advice if you don't know **anything**!)
