Nice. I recently had a game (and win!) that started off with Farmer Maggot at level 1 dropping a Holy Avenger Longsword (+9, +9). -
After a minute of stairscumming 50/100ft, I get hit by a poisoning critter. Thinking it's a good time to quaff those unid potions in the inventory, hoping for neutralize poison:
In a recent game, I got a potion of experience at 50ft...Your eyes begin to tingle!

NewAngband (>= 3.5) is awesome isn't it?
I really love the increased variability in drops -- you never quite know what you're going to get, but it's going to be fun finding out! Right?Comment

Playing a Half-Troll Warrior, I found Deathwreaker late in the game. Being I was virtually aggravating everything due to horrible stealth the entire game, I promptly wielded and destroyed Angmar and Sauron. Dropped down the stairs to dl100 and was going to recall to town to pick up consumables stored at home for the ultimate fight with Morgoth. Thought, "I'll just quaff this !Enlightenment before recalling...." Wow! The One Ring! Is it close? Can I get to it before Morgoth comes down on me? Yep! Managed to break into a vault, grab that little trinket and escape. The final fight was very, very easy!“We're more of the love, blood, and rhetoric school. SAngband, going down to DL17 from 16 with a nearly full inventory with my Dark Elf halberdier (because CHALLENGE!) to escape from magic mushroom fuckery. In short order, found three ego items (Ball and Chain of Troll slaying +3 +2, Morningstar of Poisoning +3 +4, Soft Leather Boots of Earthquakes +2) and a horde of orcs leading up to Ufthak of Cirith Ungol. My most recent game (consequently a winning game!) got me Eowyn off of Wormtongue on dlvl 4, and Holhonneth on dlvl 10. Made for a pretty easy early-mid game.Comment
