Help a long-time player finally win (HE Rogue)

    Hi folks,
With the exception of a massively cheating win back in the mid-90's, this is I think my first character to get below DL 80. HE rogue. Was feeling pretty weak until recently- in my last trip finally got 2x RoS+10 and Thorin. Doing my best to save consumables for the end fights. I'm doing better on !Healing than on ?Banishment or ?Destruct. I'm only CL 37 so I suppose I still have some grinding to do to get some more levels/HP.

Anyway, comments/advice on kit choices, what to sell from the house, etc would be much appreciated.

Char is here on the ladder

You need more CON. Either wear Carlammas, or ESP&crown of might (but that lacks rBlind).

      Thanks for the advice, Timo.

A couple more questions- I'm back down at DL85, and just cleared a black dragon pit (thanks Thorin!)

Got the glave of pain. This seems roughly equivalent to the BoC of Lightning. Any reason to keep one over the other?

Also got Full Plate of Isildur. I'm assuming this is better than Belegenon, but I lose the rPois. Keep until I find something better?

I've been toting around the rods of Curing, but haven't used these in forever. Any reason to keep holding on to these?

      A couple of comments-
I don't think I've seen a single labyrinth this whole game (3.3.0). Also, not sure I know what the cavern levels are. I've seen some levels with some irregularly shaped rooms, but nothing much larger than a typical room. No large vaults yet that I remember.

I've found some low level stuff un-ID'ed at very high levels (wand of Magic Missile identified at +DL 80 for example). I'm assuming this was from a memory loss at some point?

Looking good, don't lose poison resist, there's. Some hard hitters down this deep. Really just use detection a lot and you should be good. Watch out for greater demons, hounds grand master mystics, black reaver's, graeter titans, and nightcrawler/walkers. You should be able to handle anything else pretty easily. Oh and I'd, stay away from great wyrms unless you're immune to there element, until youre more powerful. Be careful when you see Tarrasque, Huan,Carcharoth or the Angels. I usually wait till I hit 50 to kill them. Good luck.

The glaive is nice because it does a lot of base damage without brands so it hits everything just as hard. On the other hand Boc have high dice as well and give resistance to chaos. I found out in a randart game I was playing that very few creatures in the dungeon, including uniques are resistant to lightning. I'd probably keep the boc but most people seem to really like the glaive.

Glaive of Pain is angelkiller. Unique angels are tough, but with that you can kill them and their escorts quite fast.

Or teleport if there is a graveyard in the level. Graveyards have nasty tendency to get partially emptied very easily because of pass-wall monsters. If you teleport in when major portion of the graveyard is still intact you are toast.

Thanks- yeah- I'm trying to play really cautiously. I haven't used Phase or Teleport for probably 50 levels. If I can't solve it by TO I just leave the level.

Phase can be used tactically. It won't take you far, and you can often be sure that there are no nasties that can get to you after phase. Of course that's not true for teleport, so it's a good idea not to use it. Along with teleport level scrolls, look for scrolls and staves of destruction. They are very useful of removing monsters from a level that you might still want to explore.
