    [CatH] Deep One, the dark avatar

    Taking a break from the tedium of archery in Un, and tryin' out this variant.
    First thing first : these guys start with AWESOME stats, see invisible, hold life, and drain experience.
    Awesome stats makes me have 4 blows per round since level one.
    See invisible starts helping.
    Drain experience makes town scumming a pain. Especially since potions of restore life levels seem not to cure it.
    I also activated nightmare mode, which (says the game) makes special rooms 4 times as common. Which made me meet wormtongue and smeagol very early. Also, lots of orcs...

    As She ventured deeper into the depths of Angband, more and more dangerous monsters started to appear on the road of the Deep One. She met Mister Wormtongue again, and he insulted her again. In the end, he was blasted to rottingdom with a charge of stinking cloud.
    She then met Bullroarer, had a discussion with him, then backstabbed him with her rapier as he was running away from her might. This proved to be an excellent action, as she was rewarded with a rapier of Venom. (Poison damage = x3 ?)
    She then recalled to town, and, as she was waiting for a recall down after having sold her stuff, she met Farmer maggot. She discussed about the death of his dog, Grip, then proceded to anhiliate him before the recall activated. The dropped loot (an armor of resist fire) was grabbed just as she started to lose consistance.
    She then had a good feeling, and met her first (lesser) vault at level 12! Promptly zapping a rod of trap detection, she proceded to disarm the traps, and met a Hummerhorn. Dispatched with difficulty, and proceeded to the rest of the vault... and met an infestation of hummerhorns. Retreat to a corridor, drink cure critical wounds and phase door which landed her just on the down stairs, which she promptly took.
    A level of boredom, and then... she liked the look of the place. And true enough, here was an orc pit. From which she got two staffs of perception (i hate non-stacking) and a bunch of other stuff, including some experience.
    And now, she has a very good feeling. A vault or an artifact, most probably. Maybe both? No. Hello Jelly pit. Goodbye jelly pit. I had forgotten those could exist.
    And the game really wants me to remember. A superb feeling = another one. + lagduf who fell with incredible ease.

      Also, amnesia seems to have been *much* more efficient before...

        Better late than never... The Ladder now accepts CatH-Angband dumps.
