Feanor!! Second time I find that.

Crazy game. I have +30 permanent speed without speed rings and without trying to max speed. With Orome it is +34. For a long long time I had a very rare situation (for me) that I had every single resist thanks to to Numenor, Dal-i-thalion, Thorin, Celeborn, Trickery.

When I found Elessar I swapped to Gondor (2x500HP healing is valuable)
When I found Feanor I used it.

That leaves shards and nether as resistance holes, but who cares when you get that huge boost in speed.

Now to get IMM_COLD and I have perfect immunities too....

I lack decent weapon. Best I can use in last fight is Calris. Tulkas is used just to have *something* in excess ring slot until I find something more useful (for haste and DEX-buffer until that time). If I find Ringil I have the classic Feanor, Ringil, Cubragol -combo.

Before divers say "go win already!", I'm having way too much fun with this char to end the game. I could try to get winner with unenchanted shovel with this gear.

Made a ladder dump, and it apparently replaced some of my old ladder entry. Some bookless artifactless hobbit mage.

Here is the link to it: http://angband.oook.cz/ladder-show.php?id=1362

Pav, if you are reading this, could it be possible to "lock" chardump so that other chardumps don't replace them? All of my chars are named "Wanderer". If the class and race change it can't be the same char.

Oh I see you accidentally overwrote your bookless artifactless hobbit mage from 2003. Do you want me to revive it from the backup? Would be a shame to lose that one.

As for your request, I'll look into it.

In some variant this is not true.

Yes, please. Even that it is a dead char, it is something "unusual". Though Eddies egoless winner is much more impressive.

Ok, the chardump id 1362 is restored, and the new option is available to protect dump, you will find it at the right column all the way at the bottom.

Thanks. Used both options (it's dead, and there is a reason to protect it).

If I now make new chardump for my Feanor-finding char, does it create a new dump? Or do I get an error?

It will create a new entry.

Edit: this also mean that it's now possible for people to keep online multiple dumps of the same game as they progress. I know some people desired this feature. But it might get messy.

Definitely. I'd prefer there to be just one dump for any one char - but as Timo says, allowing for two chars with same name to be kept separate.

I had asked for something similar to this, but I was hoping that there would be more of an archive all within the same dump (possibly linked to comments), so you could see the character as it progressed.

Possibly a good idea but I'll have to put some thought into it. Maybe during the winter

The only time I had both Ringil and Feanor I died a stupid death...But I'm hoping that you find The One Ring, that would be awesome: )

Currently I'm using that char as test-char for nightly builds, so I have no intention to end this before 3.2 has been released. That might mean quite a long period of playing which increases the odds of finding something like that.

My current problem with nightly build is that most of my macros don't work. @x(number) inscription doesn't work for anything books, food, potions, scrolls, rods, wands and staves with x(number) activation attempt. (p1,m1,A1,E1,q1,r1,z1,a1,u1). This makes playing rather cumbersome when you have those commands in your backbone. My entire collection of around 20 macros/class are all useless. That's one major UI feature of the game broken.

That is one of the drawbacks of playing nightly builds. Takk is halfway through a complete rewrite of the game's input layer, and this means that lots of things related to macros, keymaps etc. will be broken until it's finished.

I know that. That is why I use this as testing. If I were only interested on playing I would not use nightly editions. I just hope that particular one gets fixed soon, because it makes testing other changes harder. When playing itself is smooth testing other things is easy.

Fair enough. If it's any consolation, he does in tend for macros to be usable in 3.2, AFAIK.
