So I was just playtesting a hobbit archer in TFork, and slew Gothmog... And he dropped the Lochaber Axe of Gothmog. It makes sense, but I'm pretty sure the odds against that are really high...

ToME 2 has several artifacts that are associated with particular uniques who are likely to drop them. I wouldn't be surprised if Gothmog has high odds of carrying his axe. Usually the drops aren't guaranteed (obvious exception: Morgoth with his hammer and crown), but they're better than you'd get from the normal drop distribution.
