    YAWP - finally, a mage

    Finally managed to win with a mage - my favourite class and the one I enjoy the most playing.

    I also was pretty lucky with finds, getting first the axe of Eonwe and then Deathwreaker AND the boots of Feanor AND the crown of Numenor, although all pretty late in game.

    The Boots Dal-i-thalion proved super-useful until i found the boots of Feanor, how rare are they? definitely end kit material

    Now the only class left to win with is warrior - some heavy adjustments in playstyle are in order...

      No ammo, so Cubragol was basically there just for the speed boost? Suggests you Destructed and Rifted to take out Morgoth...

        Or just plain hit into head approach. He has Deathwreaker and a lot of healings.

          This is the second time I find Feanor, so I must've been really lucky

          In my 'career' i also found doomcaller once, soulkeeper thrice, razorback twice (although never used it), aule twice, eonwe thrice (counting this game), numenor twice (counting this game). [disclaimer: i'm going by memory here]

          Looking at the spoilers, the only artifacts I have yet to see are the one ring, mediator, crown of gondor, ringil, bladeturner, gauntlets of eol, ulmo.

          That's pretty much the whole list of super-rare artifacts, right?

            Yep, cubragol was there just for the speed. Also, rift doesn't even come close to dealing enough damage. Even mana storm was subpar, and I had something like 20% fail with it anyway.

            Never used destruction against morgoth or sauron (even with my other winners), always mass banishment or if appropriate banishment. I never risked getting breathed/damaged/whatever by some other nasty summon right after I'd teleport him away.

            Actually I find hard to understand the people that suggest hoarding the good ammo for the final fight, against morgoth firing is pretty much impossible, and vs sauron it may be effective, but generally by that point you deal quite more damage in melee. It may be my playstyle, but even with my older chars I never used ranged combat against them, always melee supported by magic. Even with the ranger. I find it better simply to use the good ammo when an appropriate situation presents itself (ie when fighting uniques that are susceptible to it and are far more dangerous in melee than at range, like Atlas, Kronos, etc) rather than hoarding it - in the end I always had more than enough, even before ewert's changes.

              The One Ring and the Bladeturner are in their own class for rarity (base item is superrare, and getting artifact from them is even rarer), though I have found The One three times and Bladeturner once (it is way overrated artifact). Mediator is relatively new, introduced at 3.0.0 so I haven't had time to find it yet.

              Ringil isn't that rare, and Crown of Gondor is also quite common (or should I say non-rare). At one point Ringil was as common to me as Thorin. I found it practically every single game for a long time. Don't know why. Probably just RNG playing tricks again, just like me not finding Feanor. Doomcaller and Deathwreaker are both much rarer than Ringil (and rest of them are just mass not worth mention that are found in every other game).

                Ringil has a very common base (long sword) and can start showing up as early as level 20. Thus, there's LOTS of chances to create it.

                Dal-i-thalion can start showing up as early as 10, and its creation probability is actually 4...Feanor and Ringil are 1 here...so it should show up fairly often too.

                  Are you suggesting 17 Potions of Healing, 21 Potions of *Healing*, and 17 Potions of Life is too many to be left with after the fight is over? That's only like 35,000 more hit points.
