    Can't find any artifacts

Getting down near the bottom and have found hundreds of weapons and bits of equipment, but have only found the phial and three other random artifacts.

The only source of speed I have is a couple of rings of escaping which means I'm relying on archery and magic devices. I've not got any equipment bonuses to any stats, have hardly seen any teleport other wands, no scrolls of staves of banishment or destruction, not many stat potions. No telepathy either.

Weird game this and I'm amazed I've survived this far. Any ideas what to do now? I'm half tempted to start at the top and work my way down again.

Well I got down to lvl83 and had to take it from the top since I don't have a potion of restore life levels and I had just gotten drained : ( Also I only had a few CCW! left. And while I'm not trying to fight stuff that can drain life levels, sometimes you just enter a level and Nether hounds ruin your day.

I never bother with restore life levels and tend to ignore the experience reduction as it soon seems to get put back on again.

Updated the character now after finding a load of great stuff, but sadly got careless and died from rubbish play when a wand of teleport other failed. Should have read that scroll of deep descent, but wasn't sure if it did anything on lvl 98.

I feel your pain...it always seems that items tend to fail when we need them the most. The only problem with powerdiving is that you have little to no margin for error. One false move and you are dead. Hell even powerful characters can die from the right mistake or equipment failure...its happened to me.

The great insight of powerdiving is that this is true even if you don't powerdive...

Powerdiving does put you to situation where there are a lot more instantly fatal "false moves" to the degree where there are no "right moves". That is a problem that you don't have with ordinary games.
