Do also note that Summon Doors isn't available to half the classes -- though I guess the priests and paladins do get Rune of Protection instead.
Precisely why I push for reworking summoning...

Okay, here's the endgame version of the character. I battled Morgoth once, and ended up having to flee. I've spent the intervening time scumming for consumables (which is horrifically boring). All uniques have been killed.

It looks like I'll have to melee Morgoth to death with Deathwreaker. I barely have any Slay Evil ammo at this time, and on my last attempt his summons got in the way most of the time. I also ran low on banishing -- the constant stream of undead was really frustrating.

Does anyone have any advice on how to kill him? I'm willing to grind more, but don't really want to.

      My character dump is here.

Er, I wouldn't feel too bad. Deathwreaker is the single best melee weapon in the game, so providing you can get five blows with it, there's nothing better to scum for.

        Good luck.

Have no fear--that character is overkill. Either Deathwreaker or bard (even with only one stack of slay evil arrows and ~100 fully enchanted seeker arrows) is more than enough to take him.

          Just remember:
?Phase door / ?Teleport for guaranteed escape.
?Recharging, in case you need a lot of -TO for summons
With 10 ?*Destruction*, you can leave Kelek at home. (-TO Morgoth first!)
Full buffing (Hero, Berserk, Chant, Double resist, Haste, and Shield)
          plenty (~5) !rMana

?Tele Level is a mistake vs M. You don't want to start over. Use other methods (?banishment, ?Teleport, ?Phase + TO [+ *destruction*]) to get rid of bad summons.
