    Strange game

    After finding almost nothing for the first 25 levels other than this which is a mixed blessing at best:

    r) a Tulwar (Blessed) (2d4) (+5,+6) <+1> {ESP}
    Found lying on the floor at 600 feet (level 12)

    +1 wisdom.
    Grants telepathy. Blessed by the gods (combat bonuses for holy
    casters).

    Now ESP is huge, but the thing did around 20 damage - so it had to be a swap for a main gauche - but even that did only 36

    I mean other than the Blessed Tulwar, I had some boots of Slow Descent - no Resists, no free action, nothing.

    Until I meet a young black dragon in an arena room:

    a) a Whip (Defender) (1d5) (+10,+15) [+5] <+3> {??}
    Dropped by a young black dragon at 1350 feet (level 27)

    You do not know the full extent of this item's powers.
    +3 stealth.
    Provides resistance to Acid, Lightning, Fire, Cold.
    Cannot be harmed by Acid, Fire.
    Feather Falling. Speeds regeneration. Grants the ability to see
    invisible things. Prevents paralysis.

    Combat info:
    2.3 blows/round.
    With +1 STR and +0 DEX you would get 2.7 blows
    With +0 STR and +3 DEX you would get 2.7 blows
    Average damage/round: 71.8.

    j) the Iron Helm 'Halion' [7,+16] <+2>
    Dropped by a young black dragon at 1350 feet (level 27)

    +2 wisdom.
    Provides protection from blindness.
    Cannot be harmed by Acid.

    It is rare that non-uniques drop more than 1 exceptional item; but if you have nothing, every high value item is likely to be useful.

      Kavlax at 2150 on the other hand gave me 4 items - none with even an ego attached

      Are we sure something isn't out of whack with 4.2.4?

        It's exceptionally rare that a defender weapon does the most damage of all weapons found to that point. That's a nice find.

          Yes - I was super happy with a +15 damage whip multi-hit weapon.
          Was doing close to 250 when I swapped up
