    Advice?

I haven't played in like 10 years, and the changes to the game have been *substantial* in that timeframe! (Not bad, just different!)

What does someone who knows more about later versions of Vanilla see in this character that might spark concern? I've mostly been in the dl 70 range - I'm a completionist and I'm enjoying the challenge of facing all the new (to me) uniques. Also don't want them to be summonable when I get to the big guy.

Mostly I think my concerns are around getting adequate coverage for resistances - big breathers still scare the crap outta me. Interested in your thoughts!

It is more convenient if you post your character to the ladder -

looking at it, you are a bit low on damage for the end fights. I would keep farming for either a better melee weapon or better arrows.

Sauron now got a fire breath; you are immune thanks to Narya, if the end kit doesnt include fire immunity, drinking a ! of resist heat solves.

Other than the damage, it looks fine to me.

Character looks pretty strong to me. Personally I would be wielding Eonwe for the damage and stat boosts - also a very useful Mass Banishment activation for non-mages.

Thanks for the tips. I'm hesitant to give up my resistances to dark and nether - Eonwe's really enticing (why I kept it) but I have to rework the kit to make that last. The RNG *loves* to give me the ol'

        "It breathes. You die"

messages, and I'm all the time running into hounds and dragons and vortices.

I spent some time fiddling with my kit and got Eonwe wielded, but I end up losing rPoison which sounds really scary too. I'll have to keep an eye out...

Unresisted poison breaths are 800 damage so you may not want to give it up! Why not wear the amulet of trickery?

I do, regularly! Building my kit around it and Eowyn is the only way I've found so far to cover all the r's currently. But if I change out Eowyn I have to find Dark & Nexus... I changed Elendil to Arkenstone and that helped a little, but I just don't have the right combo of gear to cover all r's if I use Eonwe.

With > 1k hit points, you dont have to worry about damage from elements other than base and poison killing you instantly. The side effects, like having your gear disenchanted, are more of a reason to wear the relevant resistance.

Giving up rnether or rdark for more damage shouldnt be a problem; now if you go and fight Ungolianth, you might want to equip rdark specifically for that fight. For daily use its not important - you probably have pblind and if you start taking heavy damage, you retreat as usual.

"Trickery provides poison and nexus resistance. I do like to have chaos and disenchantment resistances because I don't like the negative effects of those attacks, but the rest of the high resistances fall in the realm of luxury resistances for me. Poison and rBase are not luxuries and I would give up all the other high resists before I'd give up poison resistance.

Now all that said, there are countless times I swap my gear around and forget I no longer have a certain resistance and pay for it (like losing rNether but gaining rChaos, for instance). So I have to be really careful when changing my resistances around. But I would be very hard pressed to wield Eowyn over Eonwe.

Yeah, I'll just keep exploring and hope to find the right bit of kit that covers the bases better for me.

That and I need to start finding some slay evil arrows...
