I've beaten Nethack once as a rogue in a game where I got pretty lucky, but I have looked at a lot of spoilers. If want to ask me about it, go ahead. There's several things in Nethack where your chances of figuring it out without a spoiler are extremely small, but if you don't mind getting heavily spoiled just go to rec.games.roguelike.nethack for more advice then you could ever need.
