    The bow aches in your hands.

    As a counter-weight to my day brightener from last week, my kobold necromancer slays Bolg, Son of Azog and discovers his loot:
    The Holy Book of Prayers [Battle Blessings] {Not Useful}

    But what's this, an artifact bow - only my second artifact!

    b) the Long Bow 'Aurth' (x3) (-11,-9) <-4, -10> {??}
    Dropped by Bolg, Son of Azog at 1550 feet (level 31)

    You do not know the full extent of this item's powers.
    -4 dexterity.
    -10 shooting speed.
    Cannot be harmed by Acid, Fire.
    Sustains constitution.
    Slows your metabolism. Drains experience.

    When activated, it causes your next attack upon a monster to
    confuse it.
    Takes 65 to 72 turns to recharge.
    Your chance of success is 93.7%

    Well maybe not so useful
    On the plus side, I did learn the runes of Shooting Power and Experience Drain.

    And I've never seen "The bow aches in your hands" before.
    Slow digestion and sustain Con are good...

    Just for completion, said bow also had the runes of siren curse, teleporation ban and hallucination curse

    For some reason, I was unable to purchase it back from the store

          I am not sure how "the bow aches in your hands". I suspect "your hands ache as you grasp the bow."

            You misunderstood. The bow is actually suffering discomfort by you holding it. That's why it's such a horrible bow.

              High voltage bow might arch on your hand.
