I'm using 3.0.9b and I ran across a bug with the Rune of Protection Scroll.
I wouldn't be surprised if this has already been reported ...
If you read a Rune scroll while the scroll is *on the floor*, the code that "pushes"
objects on the floor out of the way kicks in before the scroll is consumed. The result
is that the scroll is pushed to an adjacent square, the rune is placed, and the scroll
is NOT consumed. This allows nearly unlimited Runes to be created.
