how to disable animations?

Maybe the ball spell animation should go at 1/2 speed, so that its duration is more similar to the one for a cone breath?Leave a comment:

Yeah, it should probably be changed now that we've switched to cone breaths. 40ms was okay for ball spells that were only spreading over 2-3 squares, but cone breaths travel much further so the total animation ends up being about five times slower. Which is annoying with fast breathers like dragon bats and even worse for packs of hounds.Leave a comment:

Yep, you can still change the animation speed with the "Set base delay factor" option under the = menu. The default speed is 40 msec; I'd suggest changing it to 1 msec rather than 0, so it's much quicker but you can still actually see the breath/spell effects. (If you switch animations off entirely there's no visual indication that a monster's just breathed on you or which monsters you're hitting with your area effect spells.)Leave a comment:

In yon olden days you could set delay factor to zero in options, but I haven't played V in many years so this may no longer apply.Leave a comment:

how to disable animations?
is there a way to disable the odious breath animations? i've come to hate the vortices more for the time they make me waste than for the laughable damage they inflict.
and hounds.
and bats.
and everything else that has a breath animation. it's too slow.Tags: None
