is there a make your own angband guide anywhere?

    hey,

i've read that newer versions of angband are more moddable, but is there a guide? or made a bare metal version where everything moddable is gone? the game data stuff is huge and changing stuff takes a long time

it would be nice if someone made a make your own angband guide that walked new people thru starting from scratch in making stuff using the engine, just a thought

So there's this as a start, and there's also a bunch of (mostly outdated and fairly random) info here. And if you need more, there's a whole development forum here for asking questions

In the absence of a guide, you might look at projects that started with Angband's 4.2 code and see how they did things. xygos, https://github.com/msearle5/xygos , ditches the high fantasy setting. The Keys of Orthanc, https://github.com/Karcharoth/Keys-of-Orthanc , keeps a Tolkien-themed environment but uses NarSil, https://github.com/NickMcConnell/NarSil , a rewrite of Sil starting from the 4.2 code, as a starting point.
