I got a dungeon town on level 668... So that is useful hopefully.
Edit: it is definitely useful. There is a scroll shop, a potion shop, a speed ring market, and an expensive black market.
I felt like I was short on potions of enlightenment, morphic oils of spider, scrolls of genocide and mass genocide.
I don't currently have ring slots available since my sound and shards resist are on one slot, and the other slot is used by either Flare for its ability to create jump gates and generally position myself, Nenya for ESP and Accuracy +20 when Nenya isn't good enough to hit.
I haven't even started scumming through the black market yet.

I did farm some junk in Lothlorien - I think I repeated the quest enough to give me 99 junk. I saved most of them for later, but I used the last of them on Level 99 on Mount Doom (you can recall to a safe level 99) - but it did not yield any new artifact ammo.
I didn't think to just leave it uncompleted.Leave a comment:

For future games: The ultimate source of junk is the Lorien town quest. Pick up junk, leave 1 wolf alive, exit, rinse and repeat. I assume you completed it (I would never, with an archer).
The best shot at a better bow are probably vaults and dragon kills in deep angband. You should eventually be able to net a x7 xbow with good damage enchantment.
Another option, if you like cheese, is to steal-scum a scroll shop in a dungeon town for ? of artifact creation. I think you said earlier though that there werent any in your game.Leave a comment:

Any artifacts created at the top of Mt Doom can also appear elsewhere. I presume this is because the level is sticky and needs to keep all of the loot if you leave and come back.
You really need to kill all uniques before heading to the Void and Nether Realm. A level 150 summoner that you can't genocide is a real drag. Low level uniques will be moving at insane speed and may take a couple of hits to kill. You can get most of the Nazgul in a few trips up and down the Paths of the Dead. Khamul and the Witch King can be picked up in Angband or Mt Doom.
Why not scum townspeople for junk? Minas Tirith is where I would go because there is a large open area outside the walls.Leave a comment:

I killed Morgoth in a surprisingly easy battle. I created a void jumpgate with Flare and lightspeed jumped, used Hammerhand's beserk and pumped him full of artifact arrows (that had "slay giant" flag) from one side, then jumped to the other gate, picked up the arrows, and volleyed him again.
He never got off any summons thanks to my anti-magic field.
I'm probably not ready yet for the Void. I haven't killed off the ringwraiths, and probably some other uniques. I really feel like I need some artifact ammo of "slay undead" or *slay* undead. But I have no idea where to farm for junk to create them from.
I'm also not sure if x5 Longbow of Lothlorien is quite good enough for the Void.
I picked up a second Nenya on level 101, after killing Morgoth (it was actually dropped by a pet) - the first was dropped by Sauron on Mount Doom. It was weird - I didn't think it could happen.
I don't currently have enough resist items to have a free ring slot for a second Nenya though. Also for an archer, a second Nenya is not really better than a ring of accuracy - unless I sometimes use melee.Leave a comment:

Thanks. Yeah, of Morgul is not worth the trouble - you can get +30 on normal randarts and egos, let alone sentient weapons.Leave a comment:

But you can also flip a "of Morgul" which can have pretty "heavy bonuses" too. I had one [-6] (-26,-29) (-2). I am sad that I got rid of that one though - I did not know it could flip. Now I'm fighting with a (-3,-7) dark sword, which doesn't quite get me to 100%. The aggravate and black breath is tough to swallow though.Leave a comment:

Now I would like to know what exactly "this" version is. Are all 2.3.5 the same ?
Edit: Ah nm, I skipped the post about no attack. Too bad, I got excited about making a Nothingness fighter.Leave a comment:

Scrolls bought from the temple. I also have 2 junk arts of genocide, but I must use them preemptively, because it usually takes several attempts to activate (about 15-25). I suppose it has a 95% failure rate. I typically just genocide zephyr hounds, since they don't carry treasure and are just a pain.Leave a comment:

The "of nothingness" has a can't attack flag, so even with positive bonuses, it does not helpLeave a comment:

Apparently it is possible to flip "of Nothingness", at least in this version.Leave a comment:

Now I am more confused. I am sure I read somewhere that flipping "of Nothingness" was deliberately made impossible. Also, how did you remove curse with a positive skill in antimagic ?Leave a comment:

I am surprised - how did you manage to flip the sword in the first place ? Also, which version are you playing ?Leave a comment:

To-{hit,damage} bonuses can only flip to positive. You can still find a Dark Sword (0, 0). If you keep finding (+X, +Y), keep those, and go to the Barrow-downs, find a Disenchanter Worm and stand next to it until you get (0,0) on your sword. The problem, of course, is that this isn't quite perfect even with 50 Anti-magic skill. Due to how the game calculates radius, etc. summoners (Q's especially) can still end up destroying you.
Great character story, btw. You haven't specified exactly, so one assumes by "study antimagic" you went with the Lost Sword quests? Did you get to 0.5 skill multiplier?
EDIT: This is the reason I started paying Theme, no lie. In Theme Boomerangs can get Antimagic as well, so you have an open slot and can achieve 100% denial on magic. Then I started looking into Possessors and getting a $GOODBODY and then going through dungeons for Antimagic quests...Last edited by AnonymousHero; October 15, 2021, 20:50.Leave a comment:
