The ladder dumps/posts/comments and AAR are both places explicitly about articulating occurrences and facts of a game. Even outside of those, there are e.g. posts comparing the damage of different weapons under different conditions, etc, where a highlight of the title could give something away. I sympathize with your feeling unwittingly spoiled, but I am not about to start spoiler tagging practically every single post, nor I imagine are others. -
Once you've seen most of them a couple times the novelty wears out. Randarts are pretty much necessary for replayability.Leave a comment:

Because I'm an optimistic greedy fool who prefers damage to resistance. :P Yeah, pretty dumb idea to think I'll have time to put on the ring and quaff a potion before the drolem has his way.Is there a reason you dont wear that ring of poison resistance ?
I never bother with resist poison potions, but once I get hold of a permanent resist source, I wear it at all times, only taking it off for short periods if absolutely necessary (that means for most games: never).
True, true. I guess I was a bit surprised to get a spoiler by just highlighting my pointer over a thread title. :-/Leave a comment:

It is probably a safe assumption, particularly in the After Adventure Reports, that there may be spoilers.Leave a comment:

It's the only small g in the game that consistently kills me. I knew very well about it, from previous games. That's why I had 15 potions of resist poison and a ring of resist poison; cause I know it shows up in the late 30s or early 40s. Sure enough it did, and I was all prepared but it caught me off guard and first thing it did was breathe poison.
edit: BTW, how did you donate $40?Leave a comment:

You can change it yourself by editing monster.txt
I recommend ATTR_FLICKER. You can also change appearance via the knowledge menu. In any case, it is not the only dangerous golem in the game. Bone and Bronze golems are plenty dangerous tooLeave a comment:

Spoiler Alert!!
Please, people, please! If you are going to have a special item in your post, PLEASE make a spoiler alert as your heading! All I did was hover my cursor over the thread "Holy moly!" and boom, big spoiler of an item I did not know existed in the game. A big draw for me of this game is discovering rare and powerful artifacts. So it's always a bummer to discover them in the forum rather than in the dungeon. That said, my thread includes some of the more common special items that people who play a lot will know.
That said, I came her to complain about one of the most common grumbles that people have in this game, which is the dang dreaded drolem. How many times do I die by this bastard! I'm on L39 and I have 12 potions of resist poison and a ring of resist poison (which I'm not wearing) and Hollenheth for monster detection. I am basically invicible against this guy! Cause I know I may run into him; so I've taken all these precautions; and my character is awesome having just picked up Thorin's Shield and wielding Lucerne hammer of frost immunity. and I'm thinking; I should probably do monster detection; nah, this is the last corner of the entire dungeon; Ill just go and grab that last item up there and then leave. A little, nonassuming green g appears; oh, another dumb golem to deal with; oh yeah, that's that special g that isn't a golem, but a super overpowered creature mimicking a golem. Great; and I've already attacked so I can't TO or anything. Drolem breathes poison. You die.
Why can't he be like bright fluorescent and a d instead of a g? All the g's in the game are harmless. So frustrating; after all those precautions and I still died by him. I know it's my own darn fault, but still. All the muddy colored g's look the same.Tags: None
