908120 games turns, beating my previous dwarf paladin record holder of 950-something turns. First no selling win. That probably sped things up. First winner that wasn't a Dwarf, but I'm still in the melee monster rut. Still haven't managed a win with any of the classes that use mage casting.
Slight departure from previous tactics, this game I was more willing to run away or use banishment in tough fights. In the second half of the game I was acutely aware that I didn't have the staying power of the priests and paladins that I normally play so I didn't have the luxury of fighting wars of attrition with chain summoning greater wyrms and daemons. I was also more free with the consumables since I have never come close to running out in the final fight. I still unnecessarily hoard potions of speed. I've never had serious trouble getting permanent +30 and even if I did it doesn't take that many potions to cover the final fight. Oh, and towards to the end I started carrying cure serious again. I hit a dry spell on cure critical for a while and the cure serious potions let me regain a hundred or so hp during brief lulls in the fighting without consuming anything important. It's a little like how my priest and paladin characters keep casting cure light all the way to the end.
